
Effective July 1, 2025, the damage waiver charge added to DCLI’s Daily Market Rates for Direct ChassisLink Pool (DCLP) chassis will act as coverage for damages that total $1,000 or less as outlined below. Damages that incur a total cost of more than $1,000 will be billed to the motor carrier in full. Please Note: Any damages to DCLP chassis used prior to July 1, 2025, are not covered by the new policy.
Damages that result in a total cost of $1,000 or less that are covered by the damage waiver charge include:
- Damage to components with the following descriptions:
- Broken
- Bent
- Cut/Torn
- Missing (not due to theft)
- Improper repair
- Damage to tires with the following descriptions:
- Cut / Sidewall Puncture or Impact
- Punctured (Due to nail or foreign object in tire)
- Run Flat / Run to Destruction / Blown / Blowout
- Flat Spot / Slid Flat / Skid Flat
- Cap Peel / Cap Separation
- Mechanical Brake Failures
- Electrical Failures
Damages that are not covered within the damage waiver charge include:
- Replacement of components or damage resulting from theft, abuse, or negligence by the motor carrier
- Any modifications made to the chassis frame, appearance, or functionality
- Damage caused by improper chassis use, including:
- Transporting overweight containers
- Failing to secure locking pins, bolsters, or twist locks
- Using a container chassis to haul tanks
- Operating with tilt lifts
- Corrections to faulty repairs made while the chassis was in the motor carrier's possession
- Damage from accidents or incidents where the motor carrier is deemed at fault
